This year, it's been laid strong in my heart to prepare for opportunities that will come my way. At the beginning of the year, I had the opportunity to sit with my husband to share his thoughts for the year, and he spoke on some lessons he got from Joshua 2, he talked about
1. Joshua sending out two spies to Jericho instead of twelve like Moses his mentor did
2. The Harlot Rahab that got a chance to hide the spies and secured a place for herself and family
3. Rahab communicating with the spies and telling them what to do to be saved from those looking for them.

The conclusion of the matter was a call for us to prepare for opportunities that will come. I was still pondering over my talk with my husband and how to help myself to align with his words of preparing for opportunities, when I watched the Celebrity apprentice season 9. In one of the episodes, a former governor of Chicago, Rod Blagojevich was the team leader of the men's group. He was given a task with the team leader of the female group, but because he did not know how to use the computer plus phone properly, he lost out as he could not pass on important information to his team members while his opponent, the female group leader did justice to the task, as she passed on information through the use of her phone and the computer early, thereby adding value to her team's work and making the female team winners of that particular task.

The Ex- Governor of Chicago Rod Blagojevich was eventually fired from the Celebrity apprentice Show as his team lost the task and as team leader, it was obvious he lacked some basic skills to get things accomplished.

My take on this is we should all prepare for opportunities, just as the bible said, we should study to show ourselves approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. 2 Timothy 2-15.
I strongly believe this is not the year to be idle, and waste away our time, it's a time to sit down and see how we can improve ourselves in all areas i.e Finance, Career, marriage etc. Whatever area you think you need help, please take the time and effort to improve yourself. This year, strange offers will come, but our being prepared for opportunities will show who gets the job. My advice to everyone reading this, is " dont wait to learn on the job" start learning NOW... Take that class, read that book, learn how to use the computer, go serve someone you see yourself becoming in future, spend the time and invest in yourself by preparing for a better future, so when the opportunity comes, you will maximize it and instead of being fired like Rod Blagojevich, you will be hired like the eventual winner of the apprentice season 9!
