MANY THINGS TO REMEMBER THIS DECEMBER

Hey you my dear reader, welcome to December 2009, its your month of divine recovery and fruitfulness.I am truly amazed at how quickly the months have gone by, God is indeed faithful. To help us better appreciate what God has done these past months, i have this beautiful note written by my dear sister in the Lord and friend of Destiny-Sister Toyin Adekanmbi, I pray you will be blessed as much as i was blessed reading this and above all be truly grateful to God for all His benefits; which includes being able to read and comprehend, but above all appreciate God for this note/Post.

Welcome to the last month of the year. Truly the end of a thing is better than the beginning thereof. It has been a memorable 2009 with many tales to tell but our story is not complete without so many things the Lord has done to take us through the trough and the crest of 2009.

This article will attempt to give another meaning to the popular “DECEMBER to REMEMBER” cliché by stirring us to do a checklist of many things that we need to “REMEMBER this DECEMBER” .
David in Psalm 103 vs 2 captured it succinctly when he said “FORGET not His BENEFITS”. We either remember or forget His good benefits to us.

David’s songs of praise challenges us that as we seek for more , we must not lose sight of the many uncountable things the good Lord has already done for us. This is why we shall explore many things worth remembering this December as we celebrate the goodness of God from January to November.

Do you that one of the signs of the end times is being unthankful (Read 2 Timothy 3:2). Strange you will say! Paul equated lack of gratitude to arrogance, ungodliness and disobedience. May we not be ungrateful to God.

I therefore concluded that the best way to celebrate DECEMBER is not to go to God with another laundry list of requests on things that have not yet manifested physically. I will rather use this month to reflect on the many great and not-so-obvious things the Lord has done and humbly express my deepest thanksgiving to a good God who “lives inside the praises of His people”

Like Habakkuk 3:17 said “Though the fig tree does not bud and there are no grapes on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though there are no sheep in the pen and no cattle in the stalls, YET I will rejoice in the LORD, I will be joyful in God my Saviour”
Even if I did not get the biggest CONTRACT , YET my CONTACT with the greatest God is not cut off.
Even though the economy continues in RECESSION, YET my life is still IN-SESSION with the grace of God.
All the newspaper said the GDP is not rising, YET your own GDP (God’s Divine Provision) remains sure and limitless forever.
Even though the baby didn’t come as planned, YET God still sees me as a special babe worth a miracle in due season.
Even though the dream job did not come, YET God keeps me in His dream forever.
Even though the eyes of my boss failed to recognise my worth, YET I remain the apple of God’s eyes.
Even though we did not meet our target for the year, YET our lives escaped being the target of the evil ones on daily basis.
Even though I fell few times, YET I was not cast out…He kept reaching out to keep me up.

For 11 months non-stop, we have enjoyed 8,016 hours of free air to keep us alive and an immeasurable gift of LIFE for 28,857,600 seconds…yes over 28millions seconds…..God is really worthy of our praises in millions times.

How uncountable are his goodness to us, how unfathomable are His love and how gracious will it be if we appreciate Him this December.
Like David, I shall not FORGET his benefits because if He has done it before , He will do it again at His time. What about you....will you forget his benefits?

Shalom and happy new month.
